Peter is a dynamic and highly experienced Project Manager who has the ability to consistently engage multiple stakeholders and deliver results, whether it is a large scale industry-funded project or a sensitive community engagement initiative. His extensive and diverse experience in environmental management coupled with his people skills have led to his outstanding reputation amongst clients.

At a glance

  • 25 years experience in agricultural and environmental management. Peter's major areas of expertise are; adaptation measures for climate change, sustainable production, landcare, natural resource management (NRM) planning and implementation, and community awareness and engagement.
  • Experience spans a variety of diverse roles in both government and consulting sectors. This includes 19 years in the Western Australian civil service as senior advisor, district leader and manager of the state's Dryland Research Institute.
  • Provided advice to the Regional NRM Chairs Group, the State's peak body in a national community/government partnership for NRM planning and implementation.
  • Highly qualified project manager, with extensive experience in managing both publicly and industry funded, environmental projects to stringent time and budget targets.
  • Projects range from developing the regional NRM strategy for the Swan catchment area, to a review of funding mechanisms available to Pacific Island countries to address climate change adaptation on behalf of the Australian Greenhouse Office.
  • Skilled people manager and trained facilitator with extensive experience in community awareness and engagement.

Little known fact

As Cropping Systems Adviser for WA Department of Agriculture, Peter developed and implemented a ground-breaking extension project. This involved using large, farm-based demonstration sites to develop and promote reduced tillage cropping systems for the Avon region. This landmark project reduced erosion and consequent siltation of the Avon River, whilst maintaining or improving crop yields and profitability.
